How to run in very cold weather

Until recently it was getting into only the single digits each day. Of course you still have to exercise. The snow hasn't built up quite enough for x-country skiing, and the roads are a little too slick for biking, so that means its time to go running.

Running at 3 degrees F means:
  • complete face covering hat with only eyes showing (I use a Loki hat)
  • another hat on top of that
  • wind breaker with zip in fleece lining
  • cold weather running pants
  • sweats on top of that
  • no gloves - it's better to just keep your hands inside your sleeves
  • running shoes with "snow tires" - yaktrax
And that's all you need. You can still feel the cold, but at least it's not life threatening.

In case it wasn't clear from the above, it's been COLD.
